Chapter 108 Cat Dad's Noot Noot
Chapter 108 – Cat Dad’s Noot Noot
Upon seeing the long list of system messages, Xiaomao was relieved. He almost had a heart attack for a second when Lucky stole the bleeding stack kill.
He sorted his inventory and checked what Karen’s drop was. As too many items were useless, Xiaomao put all common, uncommon, and rare japtems to the side and gathered only super rare and better items to the top.

.
The loot dazzled Xiaomao. Everything was so valuable that the super-rare skill books and spell books became worthless when they were compared to one of these items.
Nothing was useless here. Xiaomao still remembered that monsters’ hearts, livers, and poison sacs could become top-grade materials for elixirs, which could permanently increase one’s status attributes, Max HP, Max MP, and poison resistance.
Elemental essence crystals and monster core could boost permanent status attributes like spirit stones and elemental fruits. However, instead of giving only one point of a status attribute or spiritual root per unit, high-grade elemental essence added many points to the status at once without the limitation or cap.
G1 Essence was the basic grade. It added one point to the related spiritual root.
G2 added two points. G3 gave three. But from G4 onward, the template changed as the followings;
G4 – 5 points.
G5 – 10 points.
G6 – 20 points.
G7 – 50 points.
G8 – 100 points.
Then, there were the monster cores. It worked similarly to spirit stones. However, it permanently increased one’s status attributes, Qi, and Luck instead.
Still, monster cores were dangerous booster items. Every core had an undesirable side effect.
.
G7 Monster Core
This monster core can be found from any level 700-799 monster’s corpse. It can be used as a primary ingredient in alchemy or consumed directly.
Item Type: Consumable, Ingredient
Rarity: Super Rare
Effects:
– Permanently increase all basic status attributes by 50.
– Permanently increase Qi by 1,000
– Permanently increase LUCK by 7
– Inflict the [Monster Curse] abnormal status on the player. Randomly give a random abnormal status or curse to the consumer every minute. The curse will be automatically removed after the player suffers 1,000 random abnormal status effects or curses.
– There is a slim chance of inflicting [Instant Death] upon the player.
*[?????? Instinct]: Don’t eat this! It’s a trap!
*[Foresight]: There is no such thing as “A slim chance” for you. If you eat it raw, you die. End of story.
.
Expert alchemists could remove the side effects and make it safe to consume, but it required other ingredients and skills to make.
Xiaomao wanted to eat it right away. However, his two mysterious skills gave unanimous advice not to eat it.
Because of the dire side effects, Xiaomao decided to follow the advice. He stored the monster cores in his premium backpack inventory for later use. As for the water and dark elemental essence crystals, Xiaomao used them on himself right away.
DING
<You have already used 100 Booster items today. Please come back tomorrow.>
“Ah, right. Too bad, munya.”
Xiaomao had already consumed 100 spirit stones today, so he couldn’t use any permanent stat booster items until the day reset. He kept the items in his premium backpack for now.
After sorting the usable consumable items, Xiaomao turned to the spirit stones category. He couldn’t stop smiling when he saw the number “300” on the spirit stone icon.
‘Too bad I can’t eat more spirit stone today, but this will last me three days.’
He turned to the essence cores next. It was the superior version of spirit stone.
.
Essence Core Crystal
Cultivators always rely on essence cores instead of spirit stones because of their superior efficiency. The Qi of the cores is denser than the spirit stones, and it benefits the cultivator’s physique. However, because of its intense energy, many cultivators advise their juniors not to take the essence cores until they are at least level 400 or higher.
Item Type: Consumable, Array Ingredient
Rarity: Ultra Rare
Restriction: Level 400 or higher, Cultivator Class
Effect:
– Increase EXP by 1,000,000,000
– Permanently increase Qi by 10,000.
– Permanently increase LUCK by 100.
– Permanently increase all stats by 100.
– Permanently increase all spiritual roots by 100.
– Permanently increase max HP and MP by 1,000.
*[?????? Instinct]: Recommended cultivation resource! Consume this whenever you can.
*[Foresight]: You need all the essence cores you can get.
.
This item gave 100 times the stats that a spirit stone could give. Thus, in the late game, rich players opted for this item instead of using spirit stones.
For now, Xiaomao couldn’t use it. He stored the item along with the monster cores.
He turned to the equipment items.
The swan feather fan and the cloak were level-400 gears for a mage class. Again, Xiaomao couldn’t use it. He stored it in the premium backpack like the other important items.
However, before Xiaomao could admire the new spell books and skill books, the server sent out a global notification.
DING

<Secondly, we’ve fixed the same name issues that millions of players complained about in the forum. You can now name your subordinates freely, as long as the names aren’t taken by one of the important NPCs.>
<Thank you for participating in our game event!>
BEEP
A system letter from the game administrator flashed in Xiaomao’s game menu. He opened it and found the attached item, which was the reward of the game event. He accepted it, and a gacha ticket was deposited into Xiaomao’s inventory.
Xiaomao glanced at the bottom deck, where Lucky was shoving planks and lumbers to patch the leaking wall in a panic. He controlled the flying sword toward her and collected the gacha ticket in her stead.
Now, Xiaomao had two free tickets.
The cat hummed as he approached Fu De. He wondered if the NPC would give him the ticket that he randomly got from the game admin.
Unfortunately, another global announcement interrupted Xiaomao.
<Player Xiaomao is in possession of multiple precious legendary artifacts. He is last seen in the ocean, west of Xuan Town.>
“Wait a minute, munya!”
Xiaomao had forgotten about one of the game mechanics. He couldn’t hoard multiple ultra-rare items and legendary items in his inventory, and the gacha ticket was one of the legendary items!
A beacon of light shone upon the black frigate, highlighting his position in this world. From now on, once every hour, his location would be disclosed to the public!
